nano graphite powder is a black, spherical high surface area graphitic carbon. It can be used as an additive in lubricants to improve anti-friction, resistance to pressure and resistance to high temperature. It can also be used to enhance the conductivity of a material.
Typical particle size ranges from 10 to 45 nm with specific surface area of 30 to 50 m2/g. Ultra high purity and coated and dispersed forms are available.
Uses: Graphite (C) is one of the softest and hardest materials that can exist in nature. It has a number of different allotropes including graphite, glassy carbon and nanostructured forms such as nanotubes and fullerenes.
In fuel cells, carbon corrosion on the cathode side can lead to performance attenuation due to oxidative stress, which can be detrimental to fuel cell operation and life. Several strategies are currently in development to suppress or prevent this problem, which include the development of catalyst support with high corrosion resistance, control strategies to limit hydrogen-air interface and preparing catalytic catalysts with low equilibration rates when the fuel cell is under fuel starvation conditions.
The synthesis of single-wall carbon nanotubes was achieved in a series of reactions at elevated reaction temperatures and with various transition metal compounds, such as CoS and FeCl2, as catalysts. This approach has proven to be a valuable strategy for the synthesis of large-scale, scalable and highly-efficient carbon nanotubes.
A synthesis of molybdenum phosphide supported carbon nano-hybrids for efficient electrochemical hydrogen evolution was achieved in an alkaline medium under controlled hydrothermal conditions. Detailed morphological and electronic structure analyses of the prepared Gdot/g-C3N4 hybrids revealed their planar averaged charge density difference to be a function of position in the z direction, with positive values in the cyan and yellow regions indicating electron buildup, while negative ones in the gray region signifying consumption.
